Al Jazeera on YouTube

Al Jazeera launched an English version last year, but it was not well received in the United States. Cable networks and satellite providers were reluctant to pick up the Middle Eastern news network, and it's still not available as a national broadcast. On the web, though, things are different.

Al Jazeera English has now joined the BBC, Spike TV, the NBA and other content providers, with its own branded YouTube channel. There, viewers can watch news reporting and political commentary from Al Jazeera reporters.

I wonder how the popularity of the channel will affect traditional broadcasters' willingness to carry it...
