Watching the Leaves Change

Monday October 8, 2007

If you're not lucky enough to live in New England or one of the other great fall foliage parts of the US, you don't have to miss out on the spectacle of autumn color.

Steve Nix, About.com's Guide to Forestry has put together a list of web cams that are broadcasting updated images of foliage over the web. These aren't technically videos, but updates every 5 to 30 minutes are enough when you're dealing with an event of this nature.

National Geographic is a good site to check out for true video footage of fall foliage. Autumn from the Air takes viewers on a hot air balloon ride over Virginia's foliage, and Autumn Leaf Hoppers takes you on a tour of New England during leaf peeping season.
