Video Idol

Personally, I'm a little obsessed with American Idol. I think the show is so much fun to watch, and it's inspiring to see these incredibly talented people given a launch to potentially enormous success.

Lately, I've also becoming a little obsessed with Our Stage. It's a very cool online monthly competition for filmmakers and musicians. What I love about Our Stage is their unique rating system.

When you go to judge videos on Our Stage, you don't choose what you want to see. Instead, you're given two entries and you judge them compared to one another. Then you're given a couple more to compare and so on. This way, the videos are truly rated on their merits, instead of on their creator's ability to get his friends to vote.

In the end, you get really talented winners who are rewarded with cash and opportunities to further their careers. A lot like Idol.
