Web video is a great promotional tool for businesses, but it's been slow to catch on. One big reason is that, until now, there have been no standards for web-based video advertising. Unlike traditional television ads, in which the same format works for all networks, web video ads often have to be delivered in varying file sizes and formats for different internet platforms.
That could all change if the Interactive Advertising Bureau gets its way. The bureau "has proposed a new communication standard for digital video ads called VAST, or Digital Video Ad Serving Template." VAST would make it easier to for businesses to deploy internet video ads, by creating a standard ad format that would work on YouTube, Yahoo!, YellowBook and other sites that offer internet video.
As a video producer, I welcome this change. If accepted, it will make it easier for me to work with my clients who are already producing web commercials, as well as convince potential customers that this is an effective way to market their business.

I have been working on effectively helping independent filmmakers with DIY distribution and have a social network that I would love to feature you blog on as an Expert. If we can work together it could help a lot more people. check us out and let me know if I can feature you there. Thanks and I really like your viewpoint.
i know the only way the internet marketing is going is by using quality video commercials. to date i have only found one web hosting company that makes this very easy to produce. you tube, my space and all these type of videos are not the quality needed with a commercial. i use WMV or FLV high quality commercials and because i have a great web hosting company my commercials they play as if on TV. if you are interested in seeing this hosting service go here:
