Watch and Learn With How to Videos

Wednesday June 17, 2009

If half of the videos on the web are kitten tricks, the other half are how to videos. Is that an exaggeration? Maybe, but there are millions of how to videos out there to teach you everything from auto repair to zumba. I've put together a list of the top how to video web sites to help you find the instructional videos that you're looking for.

If you have skills that you want to share in a how to video, many of these sites accept user submissions. Producing and uploading how to videos is a great way to promote your business, or just be a helpful online citizen.

Browsing through the sites, you'll notice that many of the how to videos are similar. It makes sense that they follow a pattern. After all how many ways are there to teach a skill on video in under three minutes? Well, the how to video website Howcast is betting that the how to formula can be improved upon. Howcast is sponsoring a How-To Video Challenge to find the most creative, coolest how to video. The winner will get $2000.

Do you have a favorite how to video website? Share where you watch how to videos and why with other Desktop Video readers.
