If you like Twitter, you'll probably also like Keek. It's a fun, fast way to stay connected with friends, and is quickly becoming the most-used microvideo sharing app. With thousands of Keek users and even more videos, it'll grab your attention and have you hooked on Keeking in no time!
Overview of Keek Microvideo:
Keek is a new
social media network that lets users share microvideos. Keek is the Twitter of online video - you can post short video updates, follow other users, and respond to users' Keeks with 'Keekbacks' in the form of text or video. Available for both iOS (the Apple operating system) and Android, Keek can be used on most mobile devices, and is quickly becoming an internet phenomenon.
Getting Started With Keek:
Using Keek is free. You can start out by going to the Keek website or by downloading the Keek mobile app. Either way, you'll need to sign up by making a username and password, and providing a valid email address. Once you've logged in you can add basic personal information to your profile, in addition to uploading a profile picture from your camera or photo library.
Recording Keeks:
To create a Keek, all you have to do is click the 'New Keek' icon at the bottom of the screen. This will activate the camera on your mobile device or computer so you can start recording just like you would with your camera app. If you're
recording with your built-in web camera, you'll need a web browser with an updated version of Adobe Flash Player. Keeks are meant to be short video updates, so the maximum time you can record is just 36 seconds. Once you're done, you can either share the Keek right away, save it for later, or delete it. You'll also have the option to personalize your Keek microvideo, or share it using Facebook, Twitter, or Tumblr. For easy sharing across different social media platforms, you can link your Twitter and Facebook accounts to Keek so that each new video becomes a status update or tweet.
If you're using Keek on your computer, you'll have the option of creating private Keeks. To do so, you'll need to be a follower of the person you want to message. Go to your Keek mail, and click on the 'Private Keek' tab to create a Keek that can only be viewed by you and the recipient.
Watch Keeks:
To watch Keeks on the Keek mobile app, go to the 'search' or 'watch' tab. Keek lets you search for videos by entering the username of the person you're looking for, a recent hashtag, or a keyword. You can also browse for new Keek users to follow by checking out the 'latest Keeks' and 'Top 100 users' sections. Once you find a Keek user you like, you can choose to subscribe or follow their Keek updates. Subscribing to a user means you'll receive an email notification each time they update, and following a user means that their updates will show up in your Keek feed.
If you're logged on to the Keek website, you'll be able to find and invite friends from other social media networks. Simply go to 'Find Friends' or 'Invite Friends' and Keek will let you search for other users via email, Facebook, Yahoo, LinkedIn, and more. The Keek website also gives you access to Keek mail, where you'll receive private Keeks and notifications, and also gives you more sharing options such as embedding, sharing a URL, or sending an email.
