Jump Cut calls itself "The easiest way to upload, edit and share your photos and videos. Free." Jump Cut allows registered users to upload video files from a camera, computer or over email. Once the clips are saved in your Jump Cut library, you can trim, rearrange, add titles and effects.
To use Jump Cut, you'll need a compatible web browser. These include:
- Internet Explorer 6.0+
- Firefox 1.5+
- Safari 1.03+
- Camino
Jump Cut does not support the web browser Opera.
Jump Cut is a Flash-based editing program, so you'll need to have the Macromedia Flash Plugin installed.
Because it's all based online, Jump Cut is a very different kind of video editor. With Jump Cut, you can do most of the things you'd do with traditional video editing software - rearrange clips, add titles and transitions etc. - but you also have the advantage of Jump Cut's online community. You can share clips with others on Jump Cut, or grab their video clips to use in your edited movie.
Jump Cut also offers features you'll see in online video sharing web sites - you can publish your movie on Jump Cut, add tags, embed it on a blog, email it to a friend ...
