Windows Movie Maker
My Review
I hate Movie Maker... NO PROS, only CONS. I would give it NO STARS if I could. I have had so many problems that in the future I will abandon this project for my students. I own a MacBook and use a Sony DCR-DVD650 hybrid camera. I can import my .mpeg files perfectly well on my Mac at home. But at school, we use Dell PCs. I never dreamed that MovieMaker could not read a file format from a Sony camera, since Sony is such a popular brand. MovieMaker uses .avi files (and perhaps others). I had to convert all my files to .avi and when I did, the audio and video were out of sync. No one at my school knows how to solve that problem. Instead of my students getting the creative opportunity of editing their own videos, I am going to have to take all the footage home and edit it myself. I find editing to be an engaging and satisfying part of video, so I'm totally disappointed that my students won't be able to have that opportunity. My only hope to salvage this project in the future is if our school can upgrade to Movie Maker 2. We have MovieMaker installed on all our PCs at school, but no one uses it. Now I understand why artists use Macs instead of PCs.

Various projects for myself. Editing is fun and I'm trying to get better.
