Filmaka is an online video site with the aim of discovering talented filmmakers and rewarding them with cash and contracts. Films are judged by a panel of producers, directors, actors and writers.
Filmaka holds competition seasons throughout the year. Filmmakers submit their work, which is judged by other members. Selected films get cash prizes, and then move on to a second round of judging. Again, the films are culled until a select few have the chance to compete against other season winners for a feature film contract that is awarded at the end of the year.
Filmaka accepts films 1-3 minutes in length. Youre judged on the quality of your filmmaking, so just make something technically sound, creative and compelling. Thats not too hard, is it?
You must register as a premium member before being able to upload videos and participate in the Filmaka video contest. Membership costs $15 annually (as of February 2008), and then you must pay $10 per video you submit for judging.
